Ellis Marker Dedication Saturday, September 12, 2015

Dedication of the marker for the historic town site of Ellis will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Joan Sparks Park.

Ellis was established as a coaling station in 1869 on the Western Pacific Railroad, the last link in the transcontinental railroad.  In 1878 rail operations moved to Tracy and Ellis passed into history.

Join Historic Landmark Committee Chair, Pete Mitracos, to dedicate the Ellis Marker honoring Tracy’s past.
